Aces in the Pot Dice Game Rules

Aces in the Pot is a dice game that is similar to LCR but can easily be played with regular dice.

Object of the Game

The object of the game Aces in the Pot is to be the last player left with a counter, and then roll the dice 3 times successfully to win the final pot.

Components

• Two six-sided dice
• Two chips or counters per player

Number of Players

3 or more (best with 4 to 8)

How to Play Aces in the Pot

At the beginning of the game, each player receives two chips. The pot will be placed in the middle of the table. Choose a player to begin the game, then play progresses clockwise.

On your turn, roll the two dice.

• For each 1 that you roll, place one of your chips in the pot.
• For each 6 that you roll, give one of your counters to the player on your left.

You may end up getting rid of all your chips in this manner. If this happens, you are temporarily out of the game and may not roll the dice on this or future turns unless chips get passed to you.

At the end of your turn, give the dice to the player on your left.

Each player continues to play in turn until there is only one chip remaining (e.g., all the chips are in the pot except one). The very last chip may not be placed in the pot.

The player who has the last chip in front of them may then make an attempt to win the entire pot by rolling both dice three times. If no 6's are rolled in any of the three rolls then the player receives all the chips from the pot and wins the game. If any 6's are rolled then the player must hand the last chip and the dice to the player on their left. Continue playing in this manner until one player successfully rolls the dice three times without rolling a 6.

The winner is the player with the remaining chip who rolls the dice three times without rolling a 6.
