Dice are a necessary tool for nearly all role-playing games. But they're not just a tool. Along with the players, they rest at the heart of the game. They are the final arbiter. The hand of fate. Like the three Moirai, guiding the story and the destiny of the characters.
As such, most roleplayers take their choice of dice seriously.
Choosing the right D&D or RPG dice is a matter of taste, of course. Finding the right color, transparency, heft, size, or finish can be vitally important. The RPG dice can be a physical reflection of the character being played, or symbolic of the setting, or they can make a personal statement about the player themselves.
And why take the time to pick out and paint a great miniature for your character but then use the same old dice? Grab a set of interesting RPG dice that match your character as well. Fiery dice for a fire wizard, steel grey dice for a fighter, shimmering gold dice for a cleric... the possibilities are nearly endless.
Whether you play Pathfinder, Dungeons and Dragons, Deadlands, Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, Savage Worlds, GURPS, or one of the many other games available, we have the high-quality D&D and RPG dice that will take your role-playing experience to the next level.
From the standard d20's and d10's to the odd and rare d16 and the eye-catching d30, you'll probably find what you're looking for. But if you still don't see what you want, let us know! We can probably get it for you.
Types of RPG dice
- Seven-piece RPG dice sets
Dungeons and Dragons may have started the trend, but many RPG's make use of the seven standard polyhedral dice shapes: d4, d6, d8, d10 (both as a single number and as a tens dice), d12, and d20. These RPG dice are available in sets or they can be purchased individually.
- 4-sided dice (d4)
Small, pointy, pyramid-shaped dice. Notoriously difficult to pick up, they typically are used to determine damage for low-powered weapons, or hit points for weak monsters or characters.
- 6-sided dice (d6)
The common d6 is used in most RPGs, sometimes exclusively. This dice is available in more colors, sizes, and finishes than any other.
- 8-sided dice (d8)
Commonly used, but often overlooked, the d8 is vital to a roleplaying gamer's arsenal of dice.
- 10-sided dice (d10)
Very commonly used in many RPGs, these dice come in two forms: A single numeral on each face, or a double-digit numeral of tens from 10 to 100. Roll two of these dice at once to get a random number between 1 and 100.
- 20-sided dice (d20)
The godfather of RPG dice. The big kid on the block. The 800 pound gorilla. The kingpin of dice. Well, not really. But many RPGs utilize this dice in one way or another, and no dice collection should be without several of them.
